PRIVACY POLICY
Your races stay on your phone.
Last updated October 3, 2026
This policy explains what Heatstamp keeps on your iPhone, the little it sends to us, and why.
The short version
- Heatstamp works without an account.
- Your videos, swimmer names, birth years, times and meets stay on your iPhone. We have no server that stores them.
- We collect anonymous usage stats and crash reports to make the app better. They never include names or videos.
- No ads. We never sell data and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you create in Heatstamp is saved on your device: race videos, swimmer names and birth years, events, times, splits, meets and settings. It is included in your iPhone backups if you back up your phone, under your own Apple account.
A video leaves your phone only when you share it or save it to Photos yourself.
What we collect
Usage stats (PostHog). Which screens are opened and which features are used (for example, a race was saved or a clip was shared), the app version, device model, iOS version, and a random ID created on install. Never swimmer names, videos or times. Session recording is turned off.
Crash reports (Sentry). When the app crashes or hits an error: technical details about the error, the device and iOS version. File paths and swimmer names are removed before a report is sent.
Purchases (RevenueCat and Apple). The random ID and whether you have Pro, so purchases work and can be restored. Apple handles payment. We never see your card or Apple ID details.
The website
This website counts page views and taps on a few buttons, like the App Store badge, with PostHog. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so each visit is counted on its own. It never includes your name, and your IP address is not used to look up where you are. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
Camera, microphone and Photos
The camera and microphone are used to film races. Sound is also used on your phone to find the start signal. Photos access is used only to save clips you choose to save. Nothing from them is uploaded.
Children
Heatstamp is made for parents, coaches and adult swimmers. Many videos show young swimmers, which is why videos and names never leave the phone unless you share them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting data
Deleting a race or swimmer removes it from your phone. Deleting the app removes everything Heatstamp stored on it.
Usage stats and crash reports are kept only as long as they help us improve the app. To have them deleted, use Contact support in the app’s Settings. The email it opens includes your random ID so we can find them.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Questions: support@heatstamp.app. Heatstamp is made by Pixeleate.
